omg, I was horrible when I first started. Never worked out a day in my life. The first day was the hardest to get through, but each and everyday, it became the easiest thing ever. Matter of fact, after each session, I started running an extra 2 miles afterwards. Its the best thing you could do yourself to get yourself started to a healthy lifestyle.

i went to navy boot camp and couldnt swim. so i had to take lessons every day which consisted of "just put ur head underwater and dive in". yeah right. but i can swim enough now to save my own life. that was tough. as far as for the physical stuff. i HATE to run. it makes no sense to me. why am i running for no reason. plus i had a torn ACL then. the doc told me i could still run on it but i would need to get it fixed eventually. so my knee stayed swollen the entire 8 wks i was there. i ended up getting eczema too while there under my underarms. that sucked. but i was determined to see my family when i was scheduled to so you learn to suck it up and deal with it. it is mostly a mind game. put your mind somewhere else and those wks will be up before you know it.

I did some jogging ont he side, I don;t think I ever did push-ups, or sit-ups, when I got to basic (I was a blond punk rocker, my hair was short, my hair color is uaully red) I never got in trouble but since some of our recruits from other PLT’s were messign with the drill SGT and our Drill SGT just lost his partner due to the fact that he was barrowing money off of his soldiers (I mean we hardly make any money, come on now) he was very adiment about not being charged with sexual harrassment, so I was laughing at something a soldier said (I still could not pass my push-ups and would be recycled soon, but I did not work hard at this becuase my boyfriend who was mormon at the time said he agreed with my Dad that mormon women did not belong in the army and I was going to be in the reserves) and accidently looked in my Drill SGT’s direction with a smile still on my face, maybe he was actaully attracted ot me or just too scared of sexual harrassment, anyways he thought I was flirting with him and started ot make me do ghrass drills, well I started to cry, because so far the only problem I was having in basic was the people in our PLT and the fact of the push-ups, anyways it made me feel like my father was berating m, which is why I joined, and I guess he started to have some mercy for me (I was doing grass drills with my weapon) and told me that I was going to pass my psuh-ups and not get recycled, that helped me so much, all I needed to hear was a kind, positive word from some male when all i had heard was negative, so yea I passed basic without being recycled. Sorry so long.
